Geocache Description:

Helpohko tradi Kotalammen maisemissa Raesärkillä, Siilinjärvi-Nurmes -tien (75) lähellä.
An easy traditional cache near Kotalampi at Raesärkät, near Siilinjärvi-Nurmes -road (75).

Raesärkät on Natura 2000-alue, josta voit lukea lisää www.luontoon.fi/raesarkat -sivuilta. Kotalampi on lähellä parkkipaikkaa ja Ahven-Valkeisen lammen rannan viihtyisää nuotiopaikkaa. Suosittelemme käymään Kotalammen näköalapaikalla (waypoint), jonne olisimme kätkönkin sijoittaneet, jos se maaston puolesta olisi ollut mahdollista.

Purkki itsessään on talvilöydettävä, mutta sen lähestyminen voi talvella olla vaativaa. Kätkö on hieman syrjässä polulta, mutta muuten käytä liikkuessasi polkuja.

Raesärkät is a Natura 2000-area, of which there's a Finnish-only description behind the link given above (otherwise the site is largely available also in English: www.outdoors.fi ). Kotalampi is a small lake next to Ahven-Valkeinen where there's an opportunity to make a camp-fire and swim. Note that open fire is not allowed if wildfire warning has been given. There's a scenic view to Kotalampi from the given waypoint, which we recommend.

Please use the existing trails (the cache is a little off the trail, however). The cache itself can be found also in wintertime, but the approach can be quite demanding.
