Geocache Description:

Inspired by Düg's annual baseball series, I've created a simple geocaching home run derby. How many home runs can you belt out of the park this season?

I'll be releasing a new cache every week. After it's published, you will have roughly a week to find it and select a baseball player (I will post specific dates and deadlines with each cache). This is optional of course and as long as you find the container you can log your success for all fellow geocachers to see.

Name one player and include his name in your log. The number of home runs he hits the following week is your score (don't worry, I'll handle all the number crunching).

The "catch" is every player must be unique, so FTF has choice of any player, even any Padre sluggers. STF has second choice, and so on.

Any geocachers making the find through Sunday, July 22nd are eligible and the scoring will occur from Monday, July 23rd through Sunday, July 29th.

You are searching for a small tupperware container with black tape at the end of the road between Wal-Mart and Kohl's.  There used to be a really difficult cache here that had a gap of about two years between finds.  Mine should be a little easier.

Cool (Kohl) Papa Bell was a star in the Negro Leagues who helped pave the way for Jackie Robinson. Elected to the Hall of Fame in 1974, it's been said he was so blazing fast that when you flipped off the light switch he could run to the bed and jump under the covers before the room grew dark.  I hope you can find the cache just as quickly!
