Geocache Description:

This is #3 in my "Treasure Box" series.

For me, geocaching is all about the adventure of finding "Treasure" in the great outdoors. Although LPCs, guardrail hides, and other urban caches have their place, it's the ammo cans and Lock&Lock containers in the woods that get me the most excited. After all, Geocaching is defined as a "real-world treasure hunting game" by geocaching.com, and to me finding "Treasure" is not a 35mm film can under a lamp skirt.

So, with that being said, I will be hiding a series of caches in ammo cans and Lock&Locks in the wooded areas of Mecklenburg and Cabarrus counties filled with "Treasures" for others to find.

W.W. Flowe Park is just one of the many great parks in Cabarrus County.  It's small, but is one of our family's favorite places with playground equipment, picnic sites and shelters, volleyball courts, horseshoe courts, a baseball and softball complex, a ¾ mile gravel walking trail, and of course several geocaches!

This particular cache is a painted ammo can hidden just off of the gravel walking trail.  The original contents include some "Treasure" collected during the summers of my childhood.  Some of the best memories I have from when I was a kid involve collecting these treasures filled with ice cream and watching the Durham Bulls play ball at the old Durham Athletic Park...Good times.
