The title "I feel the need ... the need for speed" is a quote from one of my all time favourite movies featuring F-14 Tomcats and F-5 Freedom Fighters (the latter starring as MIG-28s in the movie) - you probably guessed the title already.
This series of caches is a tribute to all the airports around the world.
ROSKILDE AIRPORT
Copenhagen Airport Roskilde was built in 1973.
Around 30,000 passengers use the airport yearly and on average a plane takes off or lands every 5 minutes. On April 1st, 2013 the airport can celebrate its 40th years anniversary.
Roskilde Airport has to major runways:
- Runway 1: 11/29 with a length of 1,799 meters. Able to handle plane sizes up to Airbus A320, McDonnel Douglas MD-80 & Boeing 737
- Runway 2: 03/21 with a length of 1500 meters.
Runways 11 and 21 are equipped with ILS CAT I.
Runways 03 and 29 do not have ILS capabilities.
