Fordom skulle en präst fara till Algutstorps kyrka och predika. Skam tänkte stoppa resan och ryckte bort ena hjulet. Då prästen förstod vad som skedde, kastade han hjulet i vagnen och beordrade den lede att fungera som hjul. Sen piskade han på hästen och körde i rasande fart, så den onde sattes i en enorm rotation. En bit ifrån kyrkan stannade han och band Skam vid denna ek som alltsedan dess växte snett.
Long ago, a priest went to Algutstorps church to keep the ceremony. Shame thought to stop the priest's journey and pulled off one wheel of the cart. When the priest realized what was happening, he threw the wheel in the vehicle and ordered the devil to serve as wheel. Then he whipped his horse and drove at breakneck speed. A little way from the church the priest stopped and fastened Shame onto this oak that ever since then started to grow crooked.
