Geocache Description:

You are looking for a pill bottle.

While growing up in Shearstown, Newfoundland, there were a number of places and events that are quite memorable to me. I decided to leave a small series of caches to highlight these places and events.

One of my favorite nightime activities during the summer was to go along the pond chopping eels. After the sun went down I would grab a flashlight and pull on my rubber boots and head tot he waters edge. Staying as quiet as I could I would slowly walk along the edge of the water, shining my flashlight into the water looking for eels. When spotted, I had a chopper (a long piece of metal, similar to a sword, with a make-shift handle made from cloth) that I would hit the eel with. if I was successful, I would then pick up the eel and bring them to my grandfather, who would cook them!

On one particular night I was out with my friend Terry, and we were further in the brook. While chopping one eel, the end of the chopper was exposed, and scraped along my thigh. After a treip to the doctor and five stitches later, I was back home .....
