Hidden with a slithering host. BYOP
Who would have known about this hidden little gem? Not only is the trail itself literally hidden but it's also hidden on the internet. All I can uncover is that is was established by the Lambertville Environmental Commission in support of a BSA Eagle Scout who built the trail. While trying to find the traihead, a neighbor told me it was constructed in 2008...I wasn't able to confirm that however. Anyway, it runs from Alexander Avenue to York Street.
The Alexander Avenue trailhead is between the white City of Lambertville Park Guidelines sign and the Green Acres sign, which by the way at the time of placement, was TOTALLY overgrown...beware of stickers! In addition to the Alexander Avenue trailhead, I found two parts of the trail on this side, to err on the side of caution, to be quite treacherous (hence the 3.5 star rating). Please let me know your thoughts about the rating and if I should adjust it. You must jump a 3' wide trench that falls many feet down a slope on the right side. A little further up the trail, you must cross a sturdy wooden foot bridge that has been moved out of place and is now lop-sided.
The York Street trailhead is between the white City of Lambertville Park Guidelines sign and someone's garage! This side of the trail isn't quite as treacherous as the other but it's still a little rough.
As always, BE CAREFUL! Again, two parts of this trail are physically challenging. Never attempt anything you do not feel safe or comfortable doing. Good Luck!!
Congratulations to Stretchwell on FTF!!
