DURING THE GATE OPENING OVER THE LONG WEEKEND?
OR...will these FTF's sit there ALL winter barring a hike in? The Weaver Lake gate is currently locked but should be open for the Thanksgiving long weekend and then again for the Easter weekend before the regular opening May 1 through Labour Day weekend.
In 2007 we placed our first cache along Denham's Trail here on the lake. In the 5 years since it was published it has been found only 17 times. Granted this lake has gate closures during a good portion of the year but for 4 months of the year this trail and lake beckon you to visit. So, we have placed 8 more caches along the most scenic side of the lake in hopes of enticing more cachers to check out this awesome lake. You may choose to continue around the loop (mostly forested) or return the way you came after you find them.
THE CACHE:
All containers are preform tubes as we hope they will keep dry over the winter and snowy months. We have given explicit hints so no one should have difficulty in finding them. Also have added some pink flagging tape along the trail for additional markings.
WEAVER LAKE:
There is a rec site located here with approx. 29 campsites and a boat ramp for those who wish to fish. Denham's Trail circles the lake in a loop and is 6-7 km in length with about a 3 hour return. It has a few nice, elevated viewpoints, offers boardwalks in places and some of the trail is in close proximity to the lake while other sections are forested.
