Geocache Description:

This is a small to medium cache in one of the larger size "Official Geocache" lock & lock style containers.  This is an easy find, but use caution getting to it.  There is a trail through the woods, but be warned that this time of year it's a little overgrown, and there are plenty of thorn bushes and stinging nettles along the sides of the trail.  Don't go after this one in the summertime wearing shorts and sandals.

One day when the Boy Scouts were walking around in the woods by the church, we spotted this old gal in the woods.  She must have been a beaut, back in her day.  Now, she makes an interesting place to stash a cache.  When we first came across this, I figured it needed a name.  "Bessie" seems like a perfect fit.  This small wooded area next to the church has a couple of little trails running through it.  I've included a waypoint for the easiest place to get started on the trail.  The cache location should be pretty isolated most of the time, but being next to a good sized church, there will be a lot of traffic right nearby at times.

I've started the cache off with various swag (glow stick, tennis ball, gps food, etc), and placed a geocoin in it for someone to move along.   I wasn't planning on placing this just yet, so I didn't have a pencil or baggie with me.  BYOP.  The container should be fine to keep the log dry, but if someone happens to have a sandwich bag with them, I'd appreciate bagging it.  If not, I'll try to get back in the next couple of weeks with a pen and zip loc bag.

I'm going to set this one at a low difficulty and mid-high terrain for now.  If you think the settings aren't appropriate, let me know.  I think the find itself will be no trouble at all, but with the narrow trail and the thorny plants along the way, it is not a path I'd take young kids down right now.  Late fall through early spring it should be quite a bit easier.  Also, due to the heavy tree cover, I'm not sure how exact the coordinates are.  I think they should be pretty close, and once you get close, the 'host' where the cache is placed is quite large, you can't miss it.
Congratulations to drtmn for FTF!
