Geocache Description:

This series has been set with the help of a group of adults with learning difficulties and/or autism, who helped plan, make and place the caches. The series is named after Winston – a lovely black Labrador who we take on walks.
Please do not park at the nearby Hospital and instead use the parking approached from the Marsham to Eastgate road, turning off next to Botany Bay Farm. For a longer walk you could use the parking at either Cawston or Marsham Heath.

This isn't set at the Boat House, but if you walk a little further up the path after the cache you will have a fantastic view of it over the lake. Please don't enter the private land of the lake and boathouse and stay on the public bridleway. Lt Colonel McDougall was responsible for the initial building of the Japanese-style boathouse in 1936. This building was designed by distinguished Norfolk architect Cecil Upcher and constructed by local builder Norman Howard from bricks made in his kiln in Cawston village. The cost for this building was £231 16s 2d. In 1986 the boathouse burnt down but was rebuilt by its then owners Cawston College, using the original plans supplied by the late Norman Howard’s son Richard.
