Geocache Description:

In honor of my son’s fascination, and incredibly vast knowledge of prehistoric animals (you might even call it an obsession), I have created this series of dinosaur caches.  My goal is to eventually place a cache for a dinosaur of each letter of the alphabet. Yep, there are dinosaurs that start with the letters X,Y, & Z.

The Eoraptor was an early two-legged saurichian from the Triassic period, close to the ancestry of theropods. They were a small carnivore that only grew to about 3 foot long.  They were swift predators with sharp claws used to take down their prey.

This cache is hidden just off a trail near Homewood-Capital View Park. It is not your typical hide, and the cache isn’t hidden at the posted coordinates.  You must follow the instructions to reach the cache.  The coordinates will bring you to a unique looking tree.  Once you find this tree, sit on it facing NE at 52 degrees. Walk approximately 40-50 feet.  There you will come upon another unique looking tree.  You must stand on the opposite side of this tree and face N at 5 degrees.  Take approximately 20 paces along the deer path and this will take you to a small clearing. I must note that it really isn’t much of a clearing, but compared to what you have walked through to get here it is. To you right approximately 10 feet is where you will find the cache. It is a camo'd lock n lock that contains a log, a few small dinosaurs, a CITO Travelbug that I have been holding on to for long enough, and a Dino Pathtag for the FTF!

PLEASE WATCH OUT FOR THE THORNS AND POISON IVY!!! Watch out for the Eoraptor as well!

Happy Dinosaur Hunting!!!
