Geocache Description:

A difficult hike in terms of exertion.  My suggestion was to call it Heart Attack Hill, as the summit does not have an official name, but it has been called the "U" or "the eagle's nest".

Locals claim the u shape was created by a famous pirate who fired his cannon at it to show his aim. Others claim a WW2 German plane crashed through it before landing in the bay. Others claim both are lying. Who knows? Sometimes there's a Newfoundland flag at the summit that you can see from the road below.  There is a spectacular view from the summit, so make sure you bring a camera and plenty of water. I wanted to place a cache here for a long time, but had no cache maintainer until now. We placed a regular ammo can. The hike is strenuous, as you go from 10m to 317m over the 2km hike, so make sure you bring plenty of water and your camera for the view.

From the trailhead, the turns are waypointed, but just make sure you go right, left, left and you will be fine.  You will have to cross a bog, so waterproof hiking boots are recommended, and after you cross the bog, follow the white signs to the top.

If you bring kids, be careful near the summit, as there are several dangerous areas. The cache itself is a green ammo can that is not in a dangerous area, so there is no need to go nearer the edge than you want to. It may be a difficult snow-covered find in winter.
