Geocache Description:

Welcome to our SMILEY FACE set of Caches.

These 25 caches are all set in the Wellsford area, just North East of Bendigo.

If you look at the map of these caches, you will see that they form a SHAPE of a SMILEY FACE.

You will find that one of the caches has been placed at a camp/picnic site called Gunyah have a picnic GC2KZV9, hidden by Geogetters in Jan 2011.
This is a great place to start your SMILEY HUNT, and also a great spot to stop for lunch.

The OUTER CIRCLE is approximaltey 4.5kms from Gunyah to Gunyah.

The EYES and MOUTH are approximately 2.5kms if you start and finish at the same point.

The area is vehicle friendly, with some of the caches a 50 to 100m walk from the road, some will require a 150 to 400m walk from the road.
The caches themselves will be anything from micros to large. Some are easy to find, some a little harder. Some are your normal cache container and some are a little bit unusual.

Please make sure you have a PEN on you, as some of the caches will require you to bring your own.

Another hidden by Andrew. This one is 50m off a track, and he says it is 4x4 track, but it is flat, but please be careful in the wet.
Clue is on the page.

A MUST: PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU WHERE LONG TOUGH PANTS AND STURDY SHOES.

There are some prickly bushes in this area, and at one cache there are some mullock heaps.
Please also watch out for the usual creepy slithery creatures that are normally found in the bush.

You may also want to take a reading of where you leave your car for some of the caches, unless you have a great sense of direction.

We hope you enjoy our little SMILEY FACE Series, and would love to read about your adventures whilst completing this series.

A bit if TRIVIA about the SMILEY FACE.

A smiley, smiley face, or happy face, :) or :D is a stylized representation of a smiling humanoid face, commonly occurring in popular culture. It is commonly represented as a yellow (many other colors are also used) circle (or sphere) with two black dots representing eyes and a black arc representing the mouth. "Smiley" is also sometimes used as a generic term for any emoticon.

The first happy face recorded on film can be seen in Ingmar Bergman's 1948 film "Hamnstad". Later on, in 1953 and 1958, the happy face was used in promotional campaigns for motion pictures Lili and Gigi, respectively.

The happy face was first introduced to popular culture in 1958 when the WMCA radio station in New York ran a competition for the most popular radio show at the time, "Cousin Brucie". Listeners who answered their phone "WMCA Good Guys!" were rewarded with a "Good Guys!" sweatshirt that incorporated a happy face into its design. Thousands of these sweatshirts were given away during the late 1950s.
