FTF Honours go to Tankengine. Cache lasted a week before being found.

Located near the Captains Flat War memorial. At the GZ, one can sit and remember not only our soldiers who serve, past and present but also imagine the booming mining period "The Flat" once experience many years ago.

Gold kicked off the start of Captains Flat, declared the "The Molonglo River Goldfield" on 27 September 1882.  It was however, the rich copper deposits that made the town famous in the 1890's.  From your seat you can view the site of the Lake George mines and the original gold leases.

For a photographic history of the town, drop in to the servo and have a chat.  The walls are lined with photographs of the town in its prime.
