Park at the Rangiwahia hut track car park at the end of Renfrew Road, cross the stile and immediately take Deadman's track to the right, not the track straight ahead to Rangiwahia hut.
The cache is a 300ml sistema container.
After finding the cache there is a good tramping circuit if fitness and weather conditions allow. Continue up Deadman's track to Mangahuia (1583m), then follow the poled track down to Rangiwahia hut. Be sure to visit
GC34F Ruahine near Rangiwahia hut. The complete Deadman's track - Mangahuia - Rangiwahia circuit will take 5 1/2 to 6 1/2 hours. Tramping experience, warm clothing and wet weather gear are all essential for this extended tramp.
