Shell Shock Traditional Cache

The cache is on the West side of Holcombe Hill and follows the bridle path.

Please Note: This is a Military Training Area on which live firing and other pyrotechnics may be used. The area is generally open public access. One of the safety rules for public access is:- Do not, (and ensure that children do not) approach, touch or pick up any metal objects lying on the ground. Please obey all byelaws and locally posted information concerning times when the area may be closed. These may be physical barriers, flags or lights.

You are looking for a small container slightly larger than a film canister, just off the bridal path. From the cache site you will get fantastic views over Bolton, Manchester and surrounding areas. Just below you is the Army Camp home of the famous Krypton Factor assault course. Please pay attention to the warning notices if they are on manoeuvres and look out for the flags.  Higher up the hill you can visit the Peel Tower, or complete some of the many other caches in the area.
