Grunt Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

West Texas Reviewer: Cache Owner (CO) has not responded, so the cache is being archived to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking new cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace this cache sometime in the future (not to exceed 15 days from the date of this entry), just contact me (by e-mail), and assuming it still meets the current Guidelines, I will consider unarchiving this cache.

Please be advised this is not a guarantee that this geocache will be unarchived. Many factors will go into my decision. The most important of which is how you responded to geocachers who tried to communicate with you regarding the problem(s) with this geocache hide and how you communicated with me, the West Texas Reviewer.

Geocache Description:

This under-cached area will be seeing more attention over the next few months. This is the first of hopefully many similar caches in the Micron/Culebra greenspace.

"Grunts (Unggoy)
Tough, vicious, and capable with a wide range of Covenant hardware, Grunts are a significant military force. Their discipline, however, is hierarchy-reliant and dependant upon strong leadership and strength of numbers. Leaderless, they present significantly less resistance"

The first cache in our Halo series is now live! Micron can be accessed from either Potranco or Culebra. This cache is closer to Culebra, but not far from either. Parking is on the side of the road near the cache, or in one of the nearby residential areas. No public restrooms nearby or public parking areas. You may be able to find an open spot at one of the nearby apartment complexes. If you don't mind a slightly longer walk, park at Walgreens at Micron and Culebra and hoof it from there. Not a long walk either way.

There is a creek which intersects with Micron, and a well-worn service road which runs alongside it leading almost right to the cache. This area doesn't seem to get a whole lot of foot traffic, so the foilage is rather high. Lots of stickers back here. Also, watch for Brown Recluse webs. We saw a huge one while planting this cache. Keep your eyes pealed and mind your step and you should be just fine. The cache is hidden at the base of a tree near several others. Only partially concealed and covered in camo tape. Slightly to the left of a tree with white spray painting on it.
Several small items inside. Writing utesils inside also. Hoping to have more caches in this area very soon!
