One of my favorite series is Doctor Who. I have 'travelled' with The Doctor throughout the years. The Edge of Destruction is the third episode in the first series. The first Doctor and his companions – Barbara, Ian, and Susan – wake up, after a minor explosion within the Tardis, with a slight case of amnesia. They grow suspicious of each other, sure that one of them must have sabotaged the Tardis. This episode is the first glimpse at the possibility that the Tardis is self-aware, alive. This is brought forth again in later Doctor Who stories. Eventually the group discover a broken spring, which is causing the Tardis to head back to the beginning of time and therefore its destruction.
This little spot is at the end of the trail. On either side is suburban sprawl while at the end of the trail are rolling fields. There are some who see the ongoing sprawl and the desctruction of a simpler, more open life as a sad thing.
