Elwood is the “Home of the Pirates,” but it is also in the agricultural center of Nebraska. Look around the agricultural themed cache site and you will see fields of corn and soybeans. Cane used for cattle feed is also growing nearby. Center-pivot, subsoil drip, as well as gated pipe irrigation systems are used in the nearby fields. If you come at the right time of the year you will either be shaded by corn stalks or have hungry cows starring at you! Did you know that 8 tons of greenhouse gas is removed from the atmosphere by one acre of corn, and there is about 9 million acres of corn harvested in Nebraska annually?
Pull off the highway to locate this cache. You will be looking for an ammo can. We have permission from the owner of the land. All kinds of agriculture items will be inside and there is a un activated Nebraska geocoin as the First to Find prize.
