Geocache Description:

This cache will be archived soon due to hospital breaking round.

PUTTER around and find several other caches here.
Look for a few BIRDIES, maybe you’ll see an EAGLE.
The GREENS are now ROUGH!
FORE! (Watch Out! ...for muggles ;D )

Please do not park at businesses along Kenneth Road. Use the parking lot off Loucks Road. You can stay on the path until you are quite close to ground zero.

Yorktowne Golf Course opened in 1949, a championship 18-hole course with well manicured greens. A converted rustic barn gave local charm to the clubhouse. But at the turn of the century bulldozers came; they dug into the hills, reshaping the landscape for a “newer” course. It was sad to see that old barn demolished. The course was completely rebuilt and renamed Hawk Lake Golf Course.

No mulligan, it was an epic fail! It died a quick and painful death! Painful, I’m sure, for the amount of money put into reshaping the landscape.

Fairways now make way to a new hazard, weeds and thorn infested overgrowth. But hold on to your knickers! Memorial Hospital, the new owners, has graciously opened the cart paths as walking paths. The Hospital wanted to give the community a safe place to exercise until construction of the the hospital begins. According to Memorial Hospital spokeswoman, construction may not begin for two more years or so. Sooo until then, happy geocaching! The paths are paved, have distance markers and wellness tips.

Pets must be on a leash and cleaned up after (bring your own bags). Gates are closed and locked at dusk!

If you hunt other caches here note that the paths can be misleading. There’s always bushwhacking; unless you stumble upon what was once lakes.

I absolutely LOVE viewing photos and reading of your adventure! Please share! Just, I implore, no pictures of the container or actual hiding spot so it won't spoil the hunt for the next cacher. Thanks!

Happy Trails,

Congratulations to Mad Dingo along with PerkyScout for this FTF prize!
