Wokingham's Old Routes-Drover's Return- Gipsy Lane Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Leeroy71: I'm archiving all of my caches due to a change in circumstances, on-going problems with pain/ injury and following feedback from a fellow cacher.

Thanks to all of you who visited and enjoyed my caches and to those who didn't enjoy them, sorry but I tried my best. It's time to let somebody else have a go.

When able in the future, I still hope to get out and about finding the odd cache.

Geocache Description:

This cache is a part of a mini-series of caches that I shall be hiding, that takes you along some of Wokingham's oldest routes and lanes. A straightforward cache located down one of the prettiest and oldest of  Wokinghams lanes.

The cache is located in Gipsy Lane, which is one of the oldest surviving routes into Wokingham. For centuries the Lane was the main drover's route into Wokingham and it still has that sunken appearance to it. Caused by many millions of cattles hooves being driven down it, over hundreds of years, slowly sinking the lane lower and lower. That sunken look gives it a magical quality......i think so anyway! The lane is very narrow and although very quiet, please be aware that traffic does still use it. I would highly recommend strolling the full length of the Lane, it's 10 minutes well spent Also, due to the narrowness, parking is a bit tricky on the lane itself.

The cache is a small cylinder with magical properties.

FTF= Well done AmayaTom & on the loose
