Raheen Industrial Estate "Skib" Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Inishanier: Hi,

Due to the length of time this area is off limits for, I am archiving this cache. Caches should only be disabled for a short period of time and should not be used for caches that will be out of action for more than 4 weeks. This is not the case for this cache. Nearly a year disabled is too long.

Once the area has reopened you can replace the cache if you wish and resubmit it for review.

Many thanks,

Graham

Geocache Description:

Raheen Industrial Estate was set-up in the early 70's and the first two buildings (originally Essilor and M&Q Plastics) are currently July 2012 being knocked down to make way for a carpark and a hi-tech new building for Analog Devices BV.
This Industrial Estate has been an economic powerhouse to the Limerick region and once had Dell's European Manufacturing (EMF) based here prior to 2009. Of the original 1970's tenants only three have survived and prospered, these are Stryker formerly Howmedica (hip joint design & manufacturer and Analog Devices(silicon chip design & manufacture). .
This is a high activity muggle location and the challenge is to avoid suspicion, suggest a camera or a dog on a lead as a prop! .
The waypoint co-ordinates given are for a parking spot which is a cul-de sac entrance to a hoarding on the RHS just after entering the Industrial Estate from the roundabout…just enough space for one car. If you overshoot this parking spot, continue on and keep taking RH turns until you get it again..its a one way system. Walk back to the 'Skib' Boat sculpture by Liam Lavery & Eithne Ring who are local sculptors and whose work can be seen in Dingle, Cork etc. from your parking spot and read the 'Skib' Plaque. Proceed North East the number of metres in the last digit of the Plaque date multiplied by 7 to arrive at the spot & hopefully same co-ordinates given.
.
