We made our way into the deep of the swamp. As we went further the water began to stink of a rancid odor. Where we could once see clearly, the water had become black and murky. I wanted to head back, but the legend of something hidden within the island made me persist on.
After rowing for sometime, I finally spotted the island. We never saw a good place to dock so we anchored our boat to some vines and climbed up to shore. Once on land, the area was much different than what we had expected...
