This cache is named after my black lab Henry, faithful companion and geodog on many caching adventures. As a field dog, he loves this meadow and has spent many hours romping through it and diving into the thickets ever hopeful of finding that elusive rabbit.
There is something to see here year-round, but spring is probably the best when the camas, wild rose and other meadow flowers are in bloom. I understand that this property may be slated for industrial development in the future, so enjoy this area and cache while you can. Arbutus and garry oak meadows have become endangered ecosystems on this island.
Getting there: Park at the Northfield Rest Stop. Trail access is in behind the new Visitor Information Centre and off-leash dog park. There are also trails entering the meadow from a few access points along the parkway trail.
Congratulations to mugs&hugs for the FTF!
