Geocache Description:

CACHE IS NOT PLACED IN, UNDER OR ON THE ACTUAL GRAVE MOUNDS. EVEN THOUGH IT IS AN ANCIENT SITE, PLEASE RESPECT THAT IT IS A BURIAL SITE!!

One of the better bronze age grave fields in the area. Fascinating to see the old mounds remaining after so many thousands of years, even more fascinating to realize that this area has been populated for so very long, between 1800 and 500 years BC! There is a trail leading up from the road to the grave field. This is Hälsinglands longest grave mound. It is 44 meters, approximately 48 yards long. The graves have not been excavated. It's not sure if they were placed in a casket and buried or cremated. There was likely little plundring as the bronze age actually found very little bronze in Hälsingland.
