Situat pe latura de Sud Est a centrului vechi al Brasovului, aproape de telecabina care urca pe Tampa, impreuna cu alte cateva turnuri, face parte din vechiul zid fortificat ce proteja cetatea Brasovului.
Turnul Funarilor, denumit si Turnul Frangherilor, a fost mentionat, pentru prima data, in documente, in anul 1416.
In anii 1461 si 1689 Turnul Funarilor Brasov a fost cuprins de incendii, ultimul distrugand o buna parte din arhitectura initiala.
A fost renovat in ultimii ani redandu-i-se frumusetea de odinioara.
In turn veti fi intampinati de o familie de mesteri populari.
Amabili şi simpatici, cei doi soţi se ocupă de manufacturarea obiectelor tradiţionale. De la linguri de lemn sau sculpturi până la obiecte decorative împletite din sfoară şi covoroaşe, toate sunt depozitate în micul muzeu înfiinţat în incinta turnului.
Puteti vorbi cu mesterul si sotia sa, stiu despre existenta geocacheului si va pot indruma.
Fiind foarte aproape de centrul Brasovului, turnul este accesibil din mai multe directii.

Located on the South Eastern side of the old centre of Brasov City, near the Tampa cable car, with other few towers, was part of the old fortified wall that protects the Brasov City.
The Funar's Tower, called Roper's Tower, was first mentioned in documents in the year 1416.
In the years 1461 and 1689 The Tower was destroyed by fire.
The tower was renovated in several rows, the last time being in 2006.
In tower you will find a family of folk craftsmen. Very friendly, they are making traditional objects. From wooden spoons or sculptures to traditional wall carpets, you will find all of this in a small museum in the Tower.
You can talk with the tower master and his wife, they know about the geocache and can guide you.
Being very close to the Centre of Brasov, the tower is accessible from several directions.
