This cache is along the back road detour the locals have to take every time Colleges Crossing floods (which has been fairly often in the last few years!). My kids love this park which I would never have known about but for having to take the long way round.
Most weekdays you will have the park pretty much to yourself which never ceases to amaze me… the playground is based around a large, well-built, wooden structure (which my kids inevitably pretend is a pirate ship!) and makes a nice change from the standard plastic/metal contraptions we often come across. This is our park of choice for birthday parties, kite flying and throwing the Frisbee. Bring some snags and make use of the electric bbq’s, tables and handy toilet block. Also while you’re in the area it’s worth checking out the erosion on the other side of the river caused by the 2011 floods!
The cache is fairly standard and shouldn’t be too hard too find (please be respectful of the vegetation) but is intended to be big enough for lots of swaps for the kids. Even those who don’t have kids can probably imagine the excitement and anticipation that the kids experience every time they find a new ‘treasure box’!
(Note: I know the camo on this container is a bit ordinary and it will get a facelift soon but I was in the area today and am just so keen to start hiding! Hope it doesn’t detract from the experience). Scratchie for FTF :)
