When this whole thing broke, I was smack on the front lines. At first it was a couple of dispatches that made no sense. Then the numbers grew, by the time we got the order to shoot on sight, it was far too late to contain. The ammo was running low when all local communications stopped. I picked up bits and pieces from further out. Mostly people begging for help. Far as I knew, it was just me left. I took the remaining gear I had moved to high ground. After a couple of nights fighting off the things and found a nice tree and began building a place. Had a ladder to begin with, but you know that saying "Give an infinite number of monkeys a typewriter and they will come up with Hamlet." Well, it seemed to work with zombies and ladders too. Now I carry a rope with me to climb up as needed.
Survivor Note: While I was never overly friendly with this sort before the troubles, his training could be very handy. Wonder if he can get access to his old employers building and equip us a bit better?
The initial shock is over. The epidemic had spread so quickly local, state and country governments didn't stand a chance to slow, contain or stop it. The few survivors out there grabbing what supplies they can and gathering in groups. This only attracts the zombies faster. At least all the movies prepared us for this. Who would have thought watching "Return of the Living Dead" could one day save your life. Today though, something new. While scavenging you came upon a journal. Seems a cure, or at least and end may have been found for the zombie state. The journal explains where the cure is, and you know the area. You also know it is crawling with zombies. Well, if you are going to make a try for this cure, you will need to collect up some help. You know of a few others in the area that like you have hole up. Looks like it is time to round them up and make your play for the hope the journal has provided.
As you find each survivor, you must keep track of their roll in life. You will find this information on the lid of each of their survival packs. After all six survivors are gathered you will be able to plan your route to cure.
