A Garden for Annie (Jan, 2009)

A garden filled with colour,
to celebrate your life.
Is how we can remember you
Our mother, friend and wife.

Pink ones for the love you gave
For the ease with which you cared
Reds to stand out as your fire.
And the passion that you shared

Your happiness so vivid
In shades of brightest yellow.
May we know you rest in peace
when we see flowers white as snow.

We’ll recall your naughty grin,
the child-like twinkle in your eye,
When we see the brightest purples
Set up against the sky.

Green flowers show your wisdom
And the lessons that you taught,
While blue ones still remind us
Of all the joy you brought.

As each tiny seed begins to bloom
You’ll grow in every heart
A reminder that in actual fact
We’re never too far apart.

You’ll be there in the petals
And amidst each kiss of dew.
Gleaming in the sunshine
Of the early morning’s hue.

May earth’s Mother Great enfold you
And bring comfort to us here.
May we know that you live on in Her
And feel you ever near.
