This is THE PLACE to go at 9:30 Friday nights to catch a view of the Gaylord Texan Summer fireworks show on the south side of Lake Grapevine. This little overlook on the North side of the lake gives a perfect view. BYOP.
You can park within a few hundred yards of the overlook (make sure you are not parked past the Private Road sign as the locals can get a little testy). It is a quick and easy walk to the cache. You will have to walk on a mountain-bike path so keep small children and pets close at hand. The cache is a small black container a little larger than an old 35mm film canister with a log sheet inside. Coordinates were done with an iPhone location app. Let me know if it leads you astray and I will go back and map it with my Garmin. I planted the cache wearing shorts and flip-flops so no thorns, stickers, chiggers, poison ivy, poison oak, etc., though I did get snagged by a vine. BYOP.
