archy_cache: I'm archiving the Dr. Who series. This series was meant to be fun, but has been nothing but a hassle. I'm tired of people complaining about the cache being missing when it was in fact there or claiming to find a cache that was in fact missing. I'm tired of cache hiding spots being cut down or destroyed. And don't get me started about people leaving candy in the cache containers. Seriously?! DO NOT LEAVE FOOD IN THE CACHES PEOPLE!

Those who were observant may have noticed that there was no cache for the 3rd Doctor. He might make a brief appearance this summer...

Geocache Description:


This cache is one in a series of caches that commemorate the 50th anniversary of the longest running TV science fiction show, Dr. Who.  Each of the caches is placed in a location referencing a place, person, episode, or event from Dr. Who.  There is one cache for each of the eleven Doctors, each cache container may be different or hidden in a manner unique from the others.  See if you can keep up with the Doctor on his adventures across time and space.

This cache is named for the episode "The Stones of Blood", which originally aired in 1978 and was the 3rd episode in the Key of Time series. In this episode, the 4th Doctor (Tom Baker) seeks the third segment of the Key of Time in 1970s Earth, where he contends with stone circles, Druidic rituals, and a not-so-mythical goddess known as the Cailleach.  The Key of Time series is undoubtedly some of the best of Dr. Who!  A figure calling himself the White Guardian commissions the Doctor and K9, assisted by a new companion, the Time Lady Romana, to find the six segment of the Key to Time, a cosmic artifact resembling a perfect cube that maintains the equilibrium of the universe.  

The container that you are seeking for this cache is a stone (of blood).  This cache is placed in a high-traffic area in the back of the Red Cross parking lot, so please be mindful of muggles.  Do NOT get the cache if people are around and be sure to replace the cache with care.  As always, please share the cache condition so that I can keep it well maintained. You may want to donate blood while you are there - an anonymous doner saved my life two years ago and I am eternally grateful!
