The ‘Wandering Heroes’ series is a community series dedicated to the men, women and children of caching and a chance to learn more about the names you see on logs.
Once you have finished the series, feel free to add a well thought out cache in the spirit of the series, dedicated to another Wandering Hero.
This cache is dedicated to Alan Victor.
If you see a little blue Jeep bouncing through the desert, stopping at regular intervals, you may have spotted Alan Victor. Alan began caching back in August 2009 and to date has found over 3400 caches and hidden 113, still going strong and loving the caching experience. For Alan, caching is about the journey more so than the actual find itself- he loves going out to places he has not been before to make a find. His hides also reflect this and he does all he can to ensure you walk away with a smiley.
Originally from Australia, he moved to the US in 1987. Professionally he is a teacher and some of his other hobbies include riding his motorcycle and prospecting for gold, thus the cache (you will see when you get there).
His greatest achievement of course is that he is also my Dad. Alan Victor introduced my family and I to caching soon after he caught the bug and of course we love it too. Great memories are made out caching.
