Geocache Description:

This is the 4th of 5 in a series of Classic Movie Monsters from years ago when I was much younger than I am today.
All of these monsters are still very well known today and will continue to be for many years to come.
The series includes Dracula, Frankenstein's Monster, The Wolfman, The Mummy, and The Creature from the Black Lagoon.

The Mummy is a 1932 horror film from Universal Studios starring Boris Karloff as a revived ancient Egyptian priest called Imhotep. He was revived to life when an archaeological expedition found Imhotep's mummy and one of the archaeologists, despite a warning, recklessly read aloud an ancient life-giving spell.
The rest of the story is the usual type of monster movie plot… monster escapes taking the Scroll of Thoth, prowls around Cairo seeking the reincarnation of the soul of his ancient lover (Princess Ankh-es-en-amon). He attempts to mummify her and make her his bride, but she is saved when she remembers her past life and prays to the goddess Isis to save her. The prayer causes a ray from the statue of Isis to burst out and burn the scroll that gives Imhotep life, causing the mummy to crumbles into a heap of bones.
