Black Bear Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

GaTrailblazers: Due to local land owner(s) repeated, stepped up harassment of cachers and missing caches as of late, we have decided to archive this series to protect cachers and geocaching in general.

Although none of the caches were more than 5 feet from the road and trespassing wasn't required, this is the best decision for all involved. Thank you to everyone who came out to hunt these caches and to those who performed maintenance. It was a fun run!

Geocache Description:

This series aims to give you a little information about wildlife of the Southeast.

Black Bears all live in North America, and they are not closely related to brown bears or polar bears. Black bears are powerful swimmers, climbers and can run up to 30 miles per hour! They typically live in largely forested areas, but do leave forests in search of food. Sometimes they become attracted to human communities because of the immediate availability of food.

Lucas/Cannon Road is rarely traveled but be aware of others who do use the road. You can pull over enough to easily not block the road to retrieve this cache.
