This cache was originally part of Rubypuppy's "Woodland Trail" series of caches, which has now been expanded to cover more of the Woodland Trail and also provide more and varied caches. Each cache in the series contains a piece of information that is needed to locate the Campus Trail: The Bonus Cache, so don't forget to make a note of that when you locate this cache. Please note that the old series Bonus Cache is no more, so any Bonus Cache information previously obtained from this cache is of no use. Sorry!
This cache was moved to a new location in Sept 2013, and in a different container. It holds a logbook and has room for a few small swaps.
The cache container and location was moved again in March 2017; down-sizing continues -- now room for logbook and pencil only!
The Woodland Trail: Alexandra Park
If you are new to the Campus Woodland Trail, you may be wondering why this section through Alexandra Park (formerly South West Campus) doesn't involve very much woodland, but is rather reduced to a stroll along the grass verge alongside the roadway. This is because this is the youngest part of the Lancaster University estate. Until the building of the nearby relocated Lonsdale, Cartmel and Pendle College residences in 2005, this area was open farm land. The trees here were mostly planted as part of the development of this site. Once these new plantings are better established, the Woodland Trail will be rerouted through them to provide a more rural experience. In the interim, this cache provides a pleasant diversion from the present Trail to provide a flavour of how things may one day be in this area.

NOTE: The University operates a "no dogs" rule, so please leave the Geopooch at home for this one.
Note too that parking restrictions apply on campus during the working week (Mon-Fri, 08:00-18:00). Campus is well-served by frequent bus services.
