Geocache Description:

This cache was placed for the "Tom and JT's Pot Luck Extravaganza!"

I placed this cache in memory of my old kindergarten school that was tore down in 2011.  It was tore down to make room for 8 elementary schools that were built to replace the old schools in Hamilton.

Here is the back story of McKinley: The fifth new elementary school built with the 1952 bond issue funds was modest eight room structure located on a six-acre tract at the corner of Gersam and Westview Avenues near Millikin Woods. The school did not have a cafeteria, auditorium or a gym. it only cost $257,113, paid for with surplus bond issue money saved from the 1947 and 1952 school construction programs. The new McKinley building was dedicated on November 24, 1957. By the time this school was tore down in 2011 it had been expanded to to include ten classrooms.

I went to this school 1982 for part of my kindergarten and the other half I went to Cleveland Elementary (that was also tore down to build a new school called Brookwood Elementary

In the place of this school there is now an empty field with a tree line along the outer edges....this is where I placed this cache.

Be sure to use stealth as you are out in the open here and place the cache as found...under (in) a geopile.
