Space Mountain Challenge - Santa Ynez Peak Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

LavaLizard: As there's been no cache to find for months and there does not appear to be any action to restore the cache, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

Please note: Geocaches that are archived due to lack of maintenance/communication will not be unarchived.

Geocache Description:

Cache is at posted coordinates. I noticed a number of caches with the name Space Mountain so I decided to set up a challenge. find 5 caches with either "Space" or "Mountain" in their name.

Hide diff is really 1.5 stars but I added a star because of the challenge. Have fun.

You may already qualify. Just for fun, here is a list of 5 "nearby" caches with both "Space" and "Mountain" in their name. A bookmark list is attached.

GCB4CC SPACE MOUNTAIN
GC1417Q Space Mountain
GC1X315 Space Mountain Gap Cache
GC3WRWE Space Mountain - East Camino Cielo
GC1X30D Top of Space Mountain

If you happen to know of another "nearby" Space Mountain cache please let me know.

You will earn extra brownie points if you include a photo in your log from watching a rocket launch or attending a star party near one of your qualifying caches.

It is OK to find this cache and sign the log and leave a note on line but you won't get credit for a find until you've found 5 qualifying caches.  You know the drill.

Please list your qualifying caches. Unverified found logs will be deleted.

Good luck and have fun.

This is my favorite spot for watching launches from Vandenberg especially when it's foggy down below like it was on the day I hid this cache.

On the day I hid this cache I watched an Atlas V launch (Atlas V / NROL 36) while the launch pad was fogged in. Anybody watching from the launch site only saw liftoff and a few seconds of flight while I watched for more than 5 minutes from up here.

I learned about watching launches from this spot from this website: (visit link) Specifically this page on the website (visit link) scroll to about the middle of the page to the "Viewing Sites" section.

Please rehide well.

Congratulations to Team Geo-Rangers for FTF.
