Geocache Description:

A small cache placed near a delightful church.

Father Ted.  A wonderful comedy series which was curtailed due to the sudden death of the lead actor Dermot Morgan, in February 1998, aged a mere 45.

This was - and still is - a delightful, surreal, witty, sharp, and obviously western-Irish sitcom which worked its way in to the British hearts through the superb characters, funny stories and sheer unpredictability of it.  It lasted 3 series, and without Morgan's death, perhaps it would have been more.  But like another superb comedy series in the form of Fawlty Towers, the short run allowed it to never have the opportunity to turn stale.

Those unaware of the classic that is the Father Ted series, you may wish to read more on the obvious link, Wikipedia - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Father_Ted, or here, http://www.fathertedonline.ukf.net/.

I'd ridden past the general cache location many times before, and when given time to survey the local more by foot, I wanted to place a cache, and as it's close to a church, a Father Ted connection seemed apt.  Well, it did to me.

In order to find the cache, answer these questions.  From this, you'll obtain the coordinates for the final.
  • Ireland, sick of winning the Eurovision song contest, decide to use the talentless pair of Father Ted Crilly and Father Dougal McGuire to warble a dreadful tune at the Eurovision, hopefully ensuring Ireland wouldn't win and be required to host the expensive event again!  What was the name of the song they sang?  The no. of letters in the name of the animal in that song = A
  • Father Bishop Brennan was kicked where?  The no. of letters of the place where he was kicked  = B
  • In one episode, Father Ted appears to imitate which famous World War 'character'?  The no. of letters in the surname = C.
  • Aging drunkard Father Jack Hackett, who can never be relied on to behave in front of anyone ("Drink, girls", etc.) is made to learn a stock answer by rote for the visit of 3 Bishops to the parish.  That phrase, used to answer any questions posed to him, was "that would be an [x] matter".  The number of letters in X = D

The final coordinates are:

N 52 25.[D-A-A]C+1]0
W 000 51.[B-2][C+1][D-(C-B)]

For those who are familiar with Father Ted, I hope the above has brought a smile to your face!
