The MCPS WEST series invites geocachers to explore the beauty of Monmouth County’s western parks. Sponsored by the Monmouth County Park System (MCPS) these caches are designed to be family-friendly and to encourage people to explore some gems of Monmouth County. There are six caches total in the series (see below). The first five caches contain a hidden question and can be found in any order. Answer the five questions to receive the coordinates for the sixth and final cache. This last cache has stored in it the MCPS WEST buttons to collect.
Charleston Springs 101
The scenic Charleston Spring Golf Course has a beautifully wooded two mile trail. Stone Bridge Trail is a moderate walk through the quiet forest and fields of Charleston Spring in search of the old stone bridge. Along the way, enjoy the many views of Manalapan Brook.
Cache Summary
Parking is near 42 Stagecoach Road, Millstone Township, NJ. Look for the Charleston Springs Trail Access sign. Don’t park in the area for golfing of Rt 527.
Trail: Look for the Stone Bridge trail signs and follow it for less than .5 mile.
