Geocache Description:

This lake is bigger and deeper than the others in this area.  There is a nice open area at this part of the lake, which would be a good spot for lunch.

Features:
  • Remote
  • Little to no mud

Negatives:

  • Overgrown trail
  • Rough access road

The road heading up from Grand Junction has a few gullies which may prevent certain cars from continuing.  In this case, parking at Grand Junction would be the best option.  As the road aproaches a gate, there is a very rough road on the left.  There is a pull out not too far away for those who can't get up this road (I couldn't).  This road leads to a wide area not far from the lake.  From here, try to pick up an old trail that heads toward the lake.  It's more like a bushwhack now, but at least the trail leads to the lake.  There is a long abandoned fire pit near the cache.
