A small cache at the high point of Hwy 241 between Hwy 24 and Sunnyside.
We've been making this trip from Moses Lake to Zillah for many years now. But . . . Grandma has moved now and there won't be much of a reason to go to Zillah any more. Unless of course, it's to find some more geocaches.
In the winter this stretch can get icy or snowy even when it's not snowing in the valley. There is a nice view of Sunnyside and Yakima Valley heading S on 241 from this point. Traveling towards the summit from either direction trucks begin slowing down, so take care passing.
On a clear day there is a great view of Mt. Adams to the SW and a good view of the top half of Mt. Rainier more directly to the west. My son and I climbed both in the summer of '04. It's nice to find a place like this where there is a good view of both mountains from the same spot.
Well, enough of the reminiscing. This cache is a simple and easy park and grab, container is a small camo'd plastic jar. Please put the lid on tight and re-hide well -- replace container and cover as found, thanks.
