Geocache Description:

Please take care approaching this cache the walking conditions can be quite wet, steep and muddy in places. The cache has been placed with permission by United Utilities.

The cache is a small container just off the footpath.

Whinberry - the English bilberry; - so called because it grows on moors among the whins, or furze. They take hours to harvest due to the fact they are so small, fiddly and squash easily. Its my mums favourite story about collecting enough for a pie only to find that my Auntie Eleanor (the pie maker not collector of whinberries) used salt instead of sugar in the recipe - she never lived it down. Thank you to Belbincolne for his help in getting this accepted by united utilities.
