Geocache Description:

This cache is located near the meadow of the SE end of Hyalite Resevoir.
The cache is an ammo can full of goodies.
And remember, you should never leave home without your spray....bear spray and mosquito spray (at least in the summer)!

You can reach this cache by walking the trails or you can get close by boat, in the summer of course. It should be accessible all year, but in the winter you'll need X-Country skis or snowshoes.

For the summertime:
I would suggest parking at the Hyalite Reservoir parking area, the trails starting from here should keep you from having to cross any streams (unless you want to, and then I would suggest the Jeep Trail).
You will want to take the West Shore Trail at least until you see a sign that says Crescent Lake Trail (this will be at the top of the small hill just after you get off the paved trail),THEN you have to decide which way to go since you can get to the cache either way.

After reaching the cache you can either go back the way you came or make a loop and go back whichever path you didn't take making a great loop back to the parking area. The whole loop is a probably about 2.5 miles (I'm not sure because I placed it by boat and haven't been back yet to walk the whole loop, only part of it), but it is definitely worth it.

There are nearby caches also (such as GC3PNG9 and GC14NAY and you can get GC1EYZY too) so making a loop is a great idea.

For the wintertime:
There are many possible routes as the reservoir is frozen over. One route would be to drive around the lake and take the Jeep Trail. It is shorter and the stream should also be frozen over.
I don't believe the West Shore Trail and the Crescent Lake Trail are accessible in the winter since they should be covered in snow. And by looking at the logs for GC14NAY, not many venture out to find it in the winter, but it is doable.

The signal might bounce around a bit because of the trees, but I think its pretty dang close to spot on... the cache can be found with a little looking. Good Luck!!
