[EN] JOURNEYMEN HOUSE
After a long time, in 2002 a first group of travelling journeymen visited Hermannstadt / Romania again. The search for a place to sleep conducted them to the evangelic town priest.
Shortly after that, for the first time since hundred of years travelling journeymen lived again in their historic hospice, Piata Huet 3. The house which is considered above the „Coffinstair“, a long stone made set of stairs, to reach the low part of the city, has been a journeymen hospice in the past centuries. There are already lot of evidence, that there have been over 30 different kind of trade guilds in Sibiu.
From time to time since 2002 other journeymen travelled to Sibiu, the whole thing started to be refreshed again. The journeymen made working projects with the evangelic church, who is the owner of the house, Piata Huet 3.
In the following time there also have been other working opportunities in the neighbourhood, with Romanian craftsmen or in Casa Calfelor. We reached acceptance again and this hospice is also an opportunity for the journeymen to relax, while they make or made long travels.

[RO] CASA CALFELOR
În anul 2002 au venit din nou după mult timp calfe călătoare în Sibiu/România. În căutarea lor după un loc în care să îşi poată petrece noaptea l-au întâlnit pe primpreotul Bisericii Evanghelice din acest oraş.
La scurt timp după aceasta casa care se află în Piaţa Huet la nr. 3 a fost din nou locuită de calfe călătoare, exact ca în secolele trecute. Locuinţa aflată în turnul scărilor care leagă oraşul de jos cu cel de sus le-a servit ca adăpost calfelor călătoare în secolele trecute. În Sibiu au fost găsite dovezi că încă cu secole în urmă aici existau 30 de bresele reprezentând diferite meşteşuguri.
Din 2002 au început să vină în mod mai mult sau mai puţin regulat calfe călătoare în Sibiu care au lucrat în mare parte pentru Biserica Evanghelică în proprietatea căreia se află casa.
În perioada care a urmat au fost executate tot mai multe lucrări atât pentru localnici cât şi pentru casa calfelor sau pentru alte proiecte. Deseori casa este folosită şi numai ca adăpost pentru calfele care se află în trecere prin Sibiu.
