Geocache Description:

Cache is a small 35mm film type container. BYOP

I noticed this huge tree as I was driving by. The most prominent feature of this tree is what in sawmillers parlance is called fire scar, or overgrowth of injury. It occurs as the tree is damaged by a fire, when it is younger, and the new growth looks like it is growing around it. Generally the timber araound a fire scar is rotten because the new growth is growing around and over the damaged growth which dies and then rots. Not fascinating news for everybody but I thought it was worth a look.
