This Geocache will be in place between the Autumnal Equinox on September 22, 10:49 A.M. EDT and the end of fall on 6:12 A.M. on December 21 EST*. You can celebrate the beginning of fall by hunting for the Geocache. We established our first Autumnal Equinox Geocache (waypoint: GC1E15) 11 years ago. The cache is located in a woods only about 10 feet from the edge of a field.
The Autumnal Equinox occurs when sun crosses the plane of Earth's equator. This makes the length of day and night approximately equal. From now on until next spring we will receive sunlight for less than half the day, bringing on first fall and then winter.
The Autumnal Equinox 8 Cache is located in a plastic Lock-N-Lock box. Please replace the cache the way you found it.
This cache is located within Lake Erie Metropark. A Metroparks permit is required: $5 daily pass, $25 annual pass, $15 Seniors. For general information and park hours please contact one of the Metroparks park offices or the Metroparks website. Park in parking lots only. All park rules and regulations apply
