[RO] La doar 2 km distanţă de oraşul Cisnădie, Cisnădioara încântă privirea cu numeroasele căsuţe, toate la fel, cu geamurile nu foarte mari, perfect pătrate si cu obloane de diferite culori, tipic săsești. Numele de Michelsberg (în dialectal săsesc) este preluat de la Biserica Sfântul Mihail, denumită astăzi "Cetatea Cisnădioarei", cea mai veche construcție in stil romanic din Transilvania, ridicată între anii 1162 si 1223, care veghează întreg satul din vârful dealului stâncos.
Un act de donație din anul 1223 este prima atestare documentară a Cisnădioarei; prin acesta, bazilica fortificată din deal (finalizată în același an), ce este cunoscută pentru acustica sa impresionantă, era donată mănăstirii de la Cârța de către Magister Goulinus.

[EN] Only 2 km away from the town of Cisnădie is Cisnădioara, a small town which entices your sight with numerous small houses, all alike, with small window, perfectly square and multicolored shutters, typical for the Transylvanian Saxon culture. The name of Michelsberg (in saxon dialect) comes from the Saint Michael, which today bares the name of The Fortress of Cisnădioara, the oldest Roman building in Transylvania, built between 1162 and 1223, which watches over the entire village.
A donation paper dating back since 1223 represents the first documentary attestation of Cisnădioara – by this paper, the fortified church renowned for its impressive acoustics, was donated to the Cârţa Monastery by Magister Goulinus.
