This cache is dedicated to my geocaching buddy, ‘Daddy Timber.” The poem recounts a recent geocaching experience. I’m no poet, but here we go!
Geocaching With Daddy Timber
Late night the buzz,
Of a text in hand,
With flashlight and GPS,
united we stand!
The I-pad, it guides us,
As where we will go,
Burlington, or Oakville,
Or is it Toronto?
Tonight is a challenge,
X-Marks the Spot,
White and Orange Fire tacks’
Lead to the woodlot.
The search continues,
No more glowing Ts,
Where did they go,
Where are those trees!
11:00, 12:00, 1:00
Still no tacks to be found,
What is our strategy?
Let’s turn around!
Past the glowing pylon,
Journeying out is a must,
We’re ready to give up,
tonight’s a big bust.
Heading back out,
We turn in a flash,
What’s that I see?
We got it, the Cache!
Enjoy the park while you're here, who knows, you might even see Daddy Timber!
