Caching Where The Wind Don't Blow So Strange..... Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

grateful cacher: Thank you for everyone who attended my first (and hopefully not last) event. It was a blast to say the least, and I enjoyed interacting with everyone. Looking forward to getting back into the swing of things as soon as I can. Till then, take care, and fair winds and following seas.

The Grateful Dead

"There is NOTHING like a Grateful Dead concert, period!"

Okay, summer's over, school's started, and it's back to the regular grind.....NOT!!! The Grateful Dead toured year round, and their followers were right behind them. So what's to stop a few geocachers from getting together and having a nice time before the work week? Nothing.

"Cachin' where the wind dont blow so strange,
Maybe off on some high cold mountain chain.
Lost one round but the price wasnt anything,
A knife in the back and more of the same."

Nothing special here except for the location. Anyone who knows me knows that I tend to listen to a certain group. Not exclusively, but sometimes. This location was just crying for a geocaching event to be held here, so I'm going to make it happen.

Location:

The Barley Mill Pub

1629 SE Hawthorne

Portland OR 97214

Time: 7:00pm until .......??

Please post a "will attend" log, so I can get an idea of a head count. I've already given them a deadhead count, but would like to get a little more accurate so we can get more room if needed. There is no parking lot for the pub, but there is plenty of on street parking available. No definite agenda planned, just a time for socializing and chatting about the past summer's caching experiences we've had. The menu is good, the prices aren't too bad, and it's a McMenamen's, what more needs to be said. Difficulty/terrain on this event was determined not just by the location (which is handicapped accessible) but also for anyone who has listened to the Dead at anytime deserves the difficulty rating (And if you've listened to Dark Star>The Other One, I'd give you a 7....).
