Geocache Description:

Hopefully, this cache will measure up to your expectations. It took a bit of work, but I was able to measure out .10 from existing caches to place the hide. I measured off the area, took a look around, and just for good measure, made sure that I found the perfect spot. I've measured my words carefully, so I hope you have a caching experience beyond measure with this one!

Cache Notes:

  • This is a BYOP cache (there IS a paper log to sign)

  • Please be gentle with the cache container
You may need a natural TOTT *tool of the trade* to retrieve the cache
(take a look around, there's LOTS on the ground)

Cache placement by Fryler ... blame him!

That's It ~ Have Fun!!

Dartmouth Regional Park & Trails (site of the former Apache Ranch) is a multi-faceted regional park for both active and passive recreation. When visiting the site you'll find basketball, volleyball and tennis courts, a large playground area with lots of equipment (including baby / toddler swings), baseball and soccer fields, a picnic grove with grills and tables, and an outdoor pavilion (also with a grills and tables). There's also lots of open space for flying kites, playing frisbee, or a multitude of other sporting activities. Last, but not least ... there's LOTS of trails (former horseback riding bridle trails) to explore and to geocache (there's at least 10 in the park already). If that's not enough to fill your day ~ there's even a series of four letterboxes!!

Park Hours & Parking Info: A sign notes that a parking pass is needed, but over the years that I've been here, I've never seen anybody checking for parking passes. I don't think a "parking pass" will be an issue. The park is open year-round, but signs state that the gate closes at 8 p.m. in the summer // 6 p.m. in the winter.

I also found this information on the Internet:
The park is open daily June through August from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
September from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
October from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
November through March from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
April through May from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

It should also be noted that during the winter, in times of (semi) extreme snowfall, I've see the gate closed and locked so entry to the park wouldn't be possible. If visiting in the winter, please don't be disappointed if you find the gate locked and you can't enter the park.
